Description
Nobody is quite sure how the Goblins first appeared in Half Moon Bay. It's quite possible that they predate the once-quiet port town's initial settlement- surely, no otherworldly creatures of great wisdom would live so close to a well-trafficked port town?

It has never been stated that Goblins were particularly wise creatures.

The tunnels span the entirety of the mountains that surround Half Moon Bay.and possibly go underneath the town, into its sewer system, as well, though no humans claim to have witnessed any connection. Similarly, while the Goblins clearly have surface exits to their tunnels, no humans have found them. The only confirmed Human visits to Goblin Tunnels have been lost children, wandering through the woods on a foggy night.

The tunnels are lit by a series of light runes that have been carved into the walls, and there are always goblins working on expansion. New Goblins will appear in unexplored or unlit parts of the tunnels at a moderately frequent rate, slightly faster than the number of goblins that kill themselves in experiments.

Rats and Bats are frequent problems and infest the tunnels. Most Goblins choose to eat them whenever the fancy strikes them, though few have attempted to keep the animals as pets.
